Privacy and cookies

We keep this site as simple and calm as possible. No ads, no tracking cookies and no unnecessary pop-ups.

Cookies

This site only uses a necessary technical session cookie to keep the form secure. This cookie is not used to track you.

What is stored?

When you create a hug, we store the message, the name if you fill it in, the creation date, a technical security hash of the IP address and limited browser information. This is needed to make the link work and to limit abuse.

Hug messages remain available

Hugs are stored for 1 year by default. When creating a hug, the sender can also choose 7 days, 30 days, or no end date. The delete option remains available through the regular personal link. A QR card uses a separate read-only link: it can be used to view the hug, but not to delete it. Personal hug pages are intended for people with the link and are not deliberately included in search engines.

No tracking

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising cookies, Meta Pixel, or other external tracking. We only keep anonymous total counts, such as how many hugs are created or shared. Names entered and hug messages are not sold and are not used for advertising.

Delete through the regular link

To delete a hug, open the regular personal link and select Privacy. There you can see how long the message is stored and delete the hug immediately. A QR card can only be used to view the hug; the delete button is not available through that link.

Contact form

Through the contact form, we process your first name, last name, email address and message so we can answer your question. These details are not stored in the website database and are not used for advertising. The message remains in the mailbox only for as long as needed to handle it. To prevent abuse, a protected hash of the IP address is temporarily used to count messages over a 24-hour period. Old records are automatically cleaned up when the form is used again.
